As another season at Daylily Connection comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the conversations that have shaped this year. From customers sharing ideas and wisdom to finding purpose in stewarding this little piece of God’s creation, I’ve realized that some of the greatest growth comes from simply listening. And through it all, one verse continues to remind me what truly matters: “Consider the lilies…”

“She works hard.” It was a simple observation from a customer sitting under our carport, watching 11-year-old Lily help her dad gather orders around the farm. But those three little words stuck with me. Because when I watch Lily buzzing around Daylily Connection, I see more than a kid lending a hand—I see family, connection, and perhaps a little piece of the farm's past finding its way into the next generation.

What happens while customers wait for their daylilies to be dug has become my favorite part of open season. Under our little carport, strangers become storytellers, memories are shared, and I'm reminded that we're growing far more than flowers.

A simple question from her husband stopped Jessica in her tracks: "Why do you do this?"
